Sell Unique Stuff On eBay
If you make or create things that are unique to you that people cannot get anywhere else in the world, you could be onto a winner on eBay. People love to find something special and if you can genuinely claim that your eBay shop is the only place they can get it, you could have people bidding nice and high for your goods - especially if each item is a one-off. Maybe you make your own jewellery, or print your own T-shirt designs or make picture frames or whatever - follow your interests and passions.

Ebay Shops
Why do people open a shop on ebay? Well, the listing fees are MUCH cheaper for items listed in your shop, so if you are selling lots of items and you're serious about having an ebay business, then a shop is a great idea. You can list all your pricey items in your shop, and put cheaper items into auctions, which will save you a lot of money in listing fees.
Also, and this is a key advantage, you get a domain name when you open a shop - so people can make a note of your shop name and revisit it when they want to buy from you again. It gives you an identity and a professional image.
Customers need to trust the person they are buying from and if you have a shop it suggests to them that you are a seller who is serious about their business.
You can also get business cards printed (try vistaprint, mega cheap online cards) with your shop's web address on to give out to people - and make sure you put a card in with every item you sell. I'm amazed at how few ebayers do this. I have bought items and tried to find the seller at a later date and couldn't because they didn't send me their card with my purchase.

Crafty Tip To Help You Sell More on Ebay
Here's a crafty tip that will help you sell more on ebay. I have found, and I'm no doubt not the first, that people who BUY on ebay will happily pay 1p for a pair of, say, earrings even if the postage is £2.50 for just regular mail. However, they don't want to pay £2.50 for the same earrings with FREE postage!
The ebay mentality seems to be that they will buy an item at a rock bottom price even though the postage may bump it up to a normal end price for that item! So, a good way to get people into your ebay shop, or looking at your other items for sale, is to put your lower-cost items into auction, starting price 1p - then make sure your postage bumps up the final price so you don't lose out if your item only gets one bid.
Obviously don't go mad with the postage, people aren't stupid and the idea is not to rip people off. Basically, items with a 1p starting price attract lots of attention, and usually bids, which is what you want. Think of it like a carrot that you are dangling to attract people in to see your more expensive items in your shop.
You may lose a bit of money on these listings, but it's a cheap way to get attention for everything else you sell. Why waste money paying for listing pricey stuff in auctions when you can list them in your shop really cheaply!

Finding What To Sell On Ebay
Finding What To Sell On Ebay
To find out what sells well on eBay, log in to ebay and press the ‘buy’ tab. Choose the category you want to research e.g. silver jewellery, then on the lower left-hand side of the page click on ‘completed listings’. Then on the top right of the page go to ‘sort by’ and choose ‘price highest first’. You can then see which items had the most bids, which didn’t sell at all and which fetched the highest price! All this is invaluable research that will save you wasting a lot of time and money.

Ebay ID - why choose a good name for your ID
If you are brand new to ebay, here are some tips to help you get off to a good start:
Firstly, when you register on eBay you need to choose a name (eBay ID). Give this serious thought, don’t just key in something that is significant for you – why? Because if you want to be taken seriously by the buyers on eBay, your name should look professional and ideally relate to the kind of things you want to sell, and be memorable.
